There were a few rumors floating around on Bubblehead's blog over the last few days. I just came across a few news articles today about the COB from the USS Louisiana (Blue) appearing in court in Kitsap County Superior Court for second degree child rape. Here is a story from the Kitsap Sun.

There was actually an earlier article about it in the Kitsap Sun on Tuesday.
I thought the reader comments on the Tuesday article were pretty interesting in the debate on why the media singles out military service members who commit crimes and don't make a big deal about the average joe committing the same crime. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to excuse the criminal in this case. It's just interesting to note the disparity in media coverage.
I tend to come down on the side of including the guys occupation in a story when he is in a position of special trust and responsibility. I never really looked at it as military-bashing, as long as the reporter doesn't use it to tarnish the image of the entire service.
I think there is a major disconnect in the brains of people who have sex with young teens. I don't think there is any way to cure them.
